An adorable egg apron made last year by my talented neighbor. Doesn't it go well with my ragamuffin homestead style?
I wanted to share it before but everytime I put it on, I'd realize just how ratty ass or crazy my clothes looked with it... so I'd pass.
When you live in the mountains and play in the dirt, your wardrobe can really suffer. It's a hard life on clothing. With chicken wire snags because I ran fencing one day in my favorite dress or the pitch from splitting wood all over my favorite sweater, or the sun bleaching on my best vest because I left it outside (for 2 months!🤣) and dog hair.. don't even get me started on the dog hair...
But anyhow...what this post is really about are insecurities. I had some today. Yesterday too. I'll probably have a few tomorrow..We all have them! but through the years I have come to realize that the best thing to be is myself.
Devoted me. Hardworking me. Scattered me. Passionate me with holes in my clothes and time enough for mixing up chicken electrolytes.. but no time for shopping. With money enough for rolls of welded wire to protect poultry, but none leftover for brand new shoes.
And so it goes. Whoever you are and whatever you're doing or trying to do, or being or want to be. Be you first... The true you. The marvelous you. The you that takes courage to reveal. .
