It took me a very long time before I made self love and care a priority. Through a period of tremendous growth and transformation (about 7 years ago) loving myself became an ultimate priority in my life. My nutrition practice @nourishtoheal evolved into teaching others to love themselves through their relationship with food and their bodies. At that time, I had had gotten to know who I really am and not only that but learned to enjoy, nurture, and love her.
A restaurant and 2 children later, taking care of myself seemed to find itself further and further down the list. I continue to nourish myself and others with food, but remembering to stop and love myself - in even the smallest acts (like hydrating and luxuriating in the bath) became just another thing on the never ending to do list.
Through the past 3 weeks of the #simpleselflove
challenge, I began to remember how to care for myself and my needs and it feels so good...making it easy to remember to do it again. My family was sick, my husband had a procedure, more stress at the restaurant than usual, in addition to normal hectic life with a toddler and an infant, but I found myself craving a small ritual or moment to care for myself in some way. Committing to #simpleselflove
challenge, kept me honest and made me really think about how I could care for my mind, body, or spirit at some point in the day. I am so grateful for gifting this experience to myself and remembering who I am and what I need. I am a much better mother when I love myself first. I am happier, sillier, more creative, and my light shines brighter with self-love. Thank you @encouragethought for sharing this amazing challenge with me (and this great photo) and introducing me to the amazing kickass mompreneur self-love guru @melissajoyolson
Much love and gratitude for this experience. It was similar to a diet clean up or cleanse that I do for myself as needed, but this was for my soul. ❤️❤️❤️
