More on Fashion Revolution Week:
What is the meaning of Fashion Revolution Week? Fashion Revolution Week marks the beginning of a world-wide event calling people and companies in, not calling them out. Fashion Revolution is “action oriented and solution-focused.” They are calling for positive change, community and transparency in creating a fashion supply cycle, asking companies #whomademyclothes
Let’s talk about what ethical fashion means for a moment. Ethical fashion encompasses designing, producing, manufacturing, distributing, consuming and reusing clothing in such a way that does not come at the cost of ethical and fair working conditions and wages for garment factory workers and those involved in the fashion industry as well as the health of the environment and animal welfare. No one should have to die for clothing to be made. Mother Earth and all her living beings should not have to suffer just so that clothing can be consumed.
Take a picture of you in your favourite outfit, tag the brands you are wearing and ask them, #whomademyclothes
? Let’s continue the conversation, let’s DEMAND action... together!
