So being honest, I don’t normally get excited about beans. I mean I’ll eat them- they’re a great source of protein, fibre , folate and other nutrients - but they are usually far from the star of the show.

These butter beans however, changed the bean game 👏🏻 😻 they are SO damn buttery and full of flavour!!

This meal contains an easy🌱 45g of plant protein, 12 of which come from these beauty beans 💆🏼‍♀️ details👇🏻

BUTTER BEANS
.
.
1 14oz can butter beans
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup chopped white onion
1 tsp fresh thyme
1 cube veggie bouillon
1 cup water
Salt & pepper to taste
Sprinkle of paprika
.
.
I paired these beans with some wild rice sprinkled with dulse seaweed ( so good for you & tasty!!) & a Montreal seitan sausage by @gustafoods  but they would also be lovely with some chopped vegan bacon in them with a slice of sourdough 🤤🤤🤤 hahaha
.
.
1) cook wild rice according to package instructions. Once rice is simmering, start on the beans.
.
2) chop onion and sauté with spray oil for approx 5 min, then grate garlic  cloves into the pan & cook for another 30s.
.
.
3) add the rest of the bean ingredients except for paprika. Bring to a boil & reduce to simmer.
.
.
4) simmer for approx 15/20 min , stirring here and there until most of the liquid has reduced. 5 min before the beans are finished, grill or pan fry your seitan sausage. The rice should be done around the same time as the beans 🤗 I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I do!!

🌱🥕👌🤗 Profi Carrot Cake (vegan and GF)
Put the below 4 ingredients in a bowl to soak for 20 mins

2 cups of Soy milk

145g of chopped prunes

¼ cup of raisins

1 small ripe banana 
Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl

100g of ground oatmeal

75g Profi Booster

2tsp baking powder

1tsp baking soda

Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves (to taste) or pumpkin pie spice mix 
Blend the soaked ingredients until smooth and add to the try ingredient bowl. 
Mix in the below to the mixture

2 small shredded carrots

½ cup of raisins

Optional walnuts 
Spread batter in a 8x8 in pan and bake at 350C for about 40mins. Take out of oven and let cool in pan for 10min. Take out of pan and let cool completely. 
ICING:
Put in blender jug 145g of chopped prunes, ¾ cup of unsalted raw cashews and English toffee stevia (or plain stevia).
Cover with water and let sit for 40mins. (don’t put too much water).
After 40mins, blend until smooth.
Pour into a bowl and thicken using Profi Booster (or I would imagine Caramel Coffee would also be delicious!!!) until it’s the consistency of icing.

I wanted to share this yummy, easy Vegan Silk Chocolate Pie recipe ~ by Making Thyme For Health. Pies 🥧 used to be my favorite all-occasion dessert before becoming vegan! I used a gluten-free store bought Graham crust, since I couldn't find gluten-free graham crackers to make my own. The gluten-free crusts don't hold together very well, and when this pie firmed up it was hard to cut it + keep the crust intact, but it was delicious + satisfying. VEGAN SILK CHOCOLATE PIE

10oz vegan dark chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life) 🍫
14oz can full fat coconut milk, chilled overnight (I used Thai Kitchen) 🥥
1/4 cup organic pure maple syrup
1 large, ripe avocado 🥑
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 prebaked pie crust (gluten-free if needed)

For the Coconut Whipped Cream:
14oz can full fat coconut milk, chilled overnight 🥥
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1-2 tablespoons Confectioners sugar or maple syrup

1. Pour the chocolate chips into a medium sized saucepan. Scoop the solid cream out from one of the refrigerated cans of coconut milk (I opened the can at both ends to make it easier). Add it to the saucepan along with 1/3 cup of the liquid. Reserve the remaining liquid. Warm the saucepan over medium heat until the chocolate is melted. Add maple syrup + vanilla. Add more reserved liquid if the chocolate seems too thick (I didn't add any, but next time I would!). Set aside to cool.
2. Using a food processor or blender, add avocado flesh + cooled chocolate mixture; blend on high until smooth ~ 1 minute. Pour into pie crust. Refrigerate until set ~ 4 hours or overnight.

I wanted to share this yummy, easy Vegan Silk Chocolate Pie recipe ~ by Making Thyme For Health. Pies 🥧 used to be my favorite all-occasion dessert before becoming vegan! I used a gluten-free store bought Graham crust, since I couldn't find gluten-free graham crackers to make my own. The gluten-free crusts don't hold together very well, and when this pie firmed up it was hard to cut it + keep the crust intact, but it was delicious + satisfying. VEGAN SILK CHOCOLATE PIE

10oz vegan dark chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life) 🍫
14oz can full fat coconut milk, chilled overnight (I used Thai Kitchen) 🥥
1/4 cup organic pure maple syrup
1 large, ripe avocado 🥑
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 prebaked pie crust (gluten-free if needed)

For the Coconut Whipped Cream:
14oz can full fat coconut milk, chilled overnight 🥥
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1-2 tablespoons Confectioners sugar or maple syrup

1. Pour the chocolate chips into a medium sized saucepan. Scoop the solid cream out from one of the refrigerated cans of coconut milk (I opened the can at both ends to make it easier). Add it to the saucepan along with 1/3 cup of the liquid. Reserve the remaining liquid. Warm the saucepan over medium heat until the chocolate is melted. Add maple syrup + vanilla. Add more reserved liquid if the chocolate seems too thick (I didn't add any, but next time I would!). Set aside to cool.
2. Using a food processor or blender, add avocado flesh + cooled chocolate mixture; blend on high until smooth ~ 1 minute. Pour into pie crust. Refrigerate until set ~ 4 hours or overnight.

A large body of evidence suggests that the intake of red meat can increase the risk of death from all causes. The WHO has classified red meat as Group 2A carcinogen based on evidence showing a link between red meat intake and colorectal cancer. A study from Loma Linda University that is part of a prospective cohort study of approximately 96,000 Seventh-day Adventists, called the Adventist Health Study-2, showed that even small amounts of red meat increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Not only is red meat associated with health risks for humans, but its production is very unsustainable and environmentally damaging. It takes huge amounts of water, land and crops to raise animals that produce enormous amounts of manure, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide emissions. To produce protein in such an inefficient way is something we cannot afford to do any longer. So rather than beef we should eat beans. They need far less resources in terms of land and water, they are soil friendly as they work with nitrogen fixing bacteria to fertilize the soil, and they are extremely nutritious and health promoting. They are high both in complex carbohydrates, fiber and protein, as well as many vitamins and other phytochemicals that are essential for our bodies to function optimally. And they can be used in versatile culinary ways. I made a spread with beans and walnut butter that I put on a whole wheat sourdough tortilla, added a mix of red cabbage, carrots, green onions and some more greens, and a soy jogurt dressing with horseradish. It was a super delicious lunch.

Vegan baileys chocolate cookie sandwiches 🌸 Adapted these from @lazycatkitchen ‘s amaretto cookies recipe for a party last week and they went down a treat (thank god lmao)💃🏼💃🏼 they’re mostly made up of ground almonds rather than flour so I reckon they’d be really easy to make gluten free too!! Happy hump day peps 🌸 I’ve been feeling kinda ill the past two days (too much chocolate probably) but still stomached the gym this morning even tho it wasn’t the most hardcore session. Looking forward to going back to Briz today though and getting back into an actual routine (and actually getting round to writing my diss ahahahelp) 😂😩

There is now a clear body of evidence that bowel cancer is more common among those who eat the most red and processed meat. Processed meat consumption has also been strongly linked to a higher risk of stomach cancer.

The World Health Organization has classified processed meats – including ham, salami, bacon and frankfurts – as a Group 1 carcinogen which means that there is strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer. Red meat, such as beef, lamb and pork has been classified as a ‘probable’ cause of cancer.
