Unfortunately my time at the @extinctionrebellion protests are over however the fight for the government to recognise the climate emergency we're facing is far from over. Keep fighting you beautiful humans.
We have just over a decade to change the way we live before we reach irreversible climate damage. So this heatwave might seem wonderful but it's causing mass destruction, killing our oceans and wildlife and causing extreme weather events around the globe.
Humanity has wiped out 60% of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles since 1970. What people don't realise is that we belong to a complex chain of events and an ecosystem that perfectly balances one other out. However, we have tipped those scales and the planet cannot clean up after us any longer. "One straw won't harm the planet" - said 8 billion people. Time to get the fuck over plastic straws and other unnecessary plastic tbh. The amount of plastic in the ocean will outweigh the fish in the ocean by 2050 and that's terrifying in itself.
And if that's not terrifying enough then how about the fact we will be the last generation to walk this earth if we don't change? If you can't make small changes for yourself, make small changes for your children, your grandchildren and other future generations.
Small changes include: taking the bus, biking, walking, using your own shopping bags, signing the petition for the government to take action, buying from charity shops, investing in solid shampoo/conditioner and other beauty products, reducing your meat intake, buying locally, buying as little plastic as possible, picking up rubbish and putting it in the bin, recycling.
